Date of Birth: 23 July 2023

Arrived at ISINDILE: 23 September 2025

White Bengal tiger – female

Jasmine was kept as a pet on a property in Gauteng but was surrendered to ISINDILE as a maturing Jasmine was becoming a threat to the safety of the staff taking care of her.

We immediately fell in love with Jasmine when we met her. She was not concerned about all the strangers arriving at her enclosure and was chuffing and running up and down the fence to meet everyone. Not even the dart to sedate her and prepare her for her journey home bothered her. She pulled it out, casually lay down and went to sleep.

On arrival at ISINDILE we released Jasmine into her new home, which was our precious Queen Amber's enclosure. As with all our new arrivals, Jasmine also spend a few days in her management camp to get used to her new surroundings.

Typical of all the tigers who started life as pets, Jasmine has never seen another tiger in her life so understandably it took her some time to get used to her new neighbours, Asmir and Sahara and Yehudah. It didn't take this playful, confident young tigress long to start exploring her main enclosure.

Jasmine loves lying on her deck and we will often find here there in the early morning staring out over the valley and mountains in the distance.

Jasmine is in an enclosure next to young Bengal tiger, Yehudah. They have a shared fence and gate between their enclosures and we hope with time the two young tigers will become friends and be able to share an enclosure. In the meantime Jasmine is living her best life at ISINDILE.
