Nala and her brother, Simba, were rescued as 4-month-old “strays” from a residential property outside Durban by NSPCA and Kloof SPCA and relocated to ISINDILE. They started playing and getting into mischief from the moment they arrived.
Nala is very confident and often takes the lead, with Simba following behind. She has quickly started displaying all the hunting skills of an adult lioness and takes this responsibility very seriously. Whenever she sees potential “prey,” she immediately goes into “hunting mode,” crouching low, ears flat, stalking, and waiting to attack her unsuspecting prey — which often turns out to be Simba!
